EXPECTATIONS & PROCEDURES




The purpose of the library is quiet reading and research. In order to promote this atmosphere, students using the library will be expected to read or work quietly. When using the library during study hall you are expected to be actively involved in one of the following activities:

  • Research for a particular class
  • Research for an academic purpose
  • Individual or small group work for a particular class
  • Reading for a particular class
  • Reading for pleasure

Please be advised that at various times students will be using the library to test or be tutored. Be considerate and converse in a low volume as to not disturb those around you.


No more than FOUR (4) students may sit at a table or at each magazine seating area.


ONE student may work on any ONE computer at a time. If you need to work with a partner, please check with Miss. Fox.


If you need to use the lab please check with Miss. Fox.


No food or drinks are permitted. This includes gum, bottled water, etc.


Violating these (or any school enforced) policies will result in:


First offense - verbal warning
Second offense - library privileges suspended for one day to one week
Third offense - library privileges suspended for the entire semester




STUDENT ADMITTANCE

Any students with a pass from a teacher or guidance counselor indicating the student needs to use the library for a particular assignment or research will be admitted.

Students from lunch MUST have a pass from their classroom teacher to use the library during their lunch.

A maximum of 20% of students from EACH study hall will be admitted for recreational reading, Internet use.

Priority will be given to those students actively engaged in academic related activities.
